Design/Build, a concept where the architect and construction manager work side-by-side from project conception, was used to design and build this 60,000 square foot pharmaceutical addition.
Cook Imaging purchased a modular pharmaceutical facility from Sweden. The modules were constructed and factory tested in Sweden. The modular construction concept allowed construction of the critical clean rooms and formulation areas to proceed before ground was broken. This saved time which translated into the facility being ready for production six to eight months ahead of any conventional construction project. This
was the first project in the United States to utilize this unique construction process. |
